Vogue Annoints Seven Bloggers

Tuesday, Dec 8, 2009 / 1:49 PM

julia roitfeld by todd selby.jpgHow many bloggers does it take to get Anna Wintour to say blogger?

A bajillion.

How many bloggers actually get to be in her magazine?

Seven.

We knew BryanBoy was in town for a shoot, but we just learned the shoot’s for Vogue. He and six other bloggers, including Todd Selby and Tommy Ton shot the editorial in the Bronx yesterday.

The other four? Still a mystery.

sea of shoes and julia frakes are the only vogue suitable candidates coming to mind right now..

garance is in town too
thank god, not sea of shoes, i’m sick of her

I’d like to see some new bloggers featured. I feel like Sea of Shoes, even though I love her, has been featured a lot! It’s time to look at the other thousands of fashion bloggers out there.
xo,
Runway Hippie

uhhh bryan boy? why? whats his point of view? bitchy fame whore?

add garance dore to the list.
she said on her most recent blog post that she was chatting it up with ms. wintour in new york recently.

I’m happy that all of them are there! They are breaking down the barriers and making the fashion industry more social and accessible. Viva la Revolution!

Why is Julia Frakes considered a fashion blogger again? Girl updates her site like once every 3months. She’s a joke.

If BryanBoy is featured it just shows how classless and vulgar Anna Wintour is!

Not luxirare unfort.

Garance OR Scott Schuman, I can understand.
BryanBoy – Seriously?

i hope they dont feature sea of poo.
i like bryanboy. His story is inspirational. Idg the hate.
If they include the sart i’m gonna cancel my subscription. I cant stand that arrogant prick

HA. #5 was spot on. bryanboy has no point of view, is a shoddy writer, and is clearly just an attention-seeking queen.
“his story is inspirational” like his remorse over daul kim’s death was genuine.

Agree: BB = bitchy fame whore. No more, no less.
Jane of SoS may be overexposed, but at least she’s got her own sense of style. Wintour must be trying to freshen Vogue up, using others besides the same 3 models and 5 celebs over and over and over and over and over again.
Love Garance, sick of her beau. Yes, he’s a bit full of himself.
Hanh of Life in Travel may be a good candidate. She’s impeccably put together without being offensive — right up Vogue’s alley.

^— oh, and Hanh is also on the slim side, cuz we know Anna hates hates hates overweight ppl.

Yvain Rodic (facehunter) suddenly flew to NY, he was meant to go to South Africa after Australia. Satorialist is in Australia now, so not him.

^Yvan gah!

i hope Junior J. of JetSetSocialite.com is one of them! i’m not a huge fan of bryanboy’s…i can’t trust people who say that everything is fabulous. honesty is key*

one of them is YouTuber Michelle Phan. She twitpic’d a photo of her and bryan boy the other day and all of her recent tweets talk about a photo shoot and hair/makeup team.

Still looking for the remaining three haha

I heard fashiontoast is one of them

I doubt it’s michelle phan. she’s not a fashion blogger. she’s always in nyc every month for work. michelle is friends is famous bloggers so we can’t assume she’s in with vogue.

We may all not agree with their choices (Bunny Bisous? Blech. Sea of Shit? Snooze!) but it’s fabulous that Vogue is finally embracing bloggers.

I think the other four are Tavi, Hanneli Mustaparta, Susie Bubble and Garance Dore. If Scotts in the article I will barf, he is so full of himself.
I don’t understand why Bryanboy get invited to fashion shows and now this? Maybe he has a lot of readers, but where is the credibility?

Hanneli who? I had to look her up to even know who she is. Pretty face, YES remarkable blog, NO.
AGREE on Scott. Yuck!
Bryanboy was only included because of his affiliation with the big houses like Marc Jacobs, Burberry, Dolce Gabbana etc etc etc.
Style Bubble knows her fashion but she’s not Vogue material.
I hope they don’t include Jane Alridge.

i hope vogue used a diverse cast of bloggers. i like jak & jil, bryanboy and sea of shoes. fashion blogging is not only limited to street style web sites so it’s redundant if they included facehunter, garance and scott.
blogging at its very core is a PERSONAL diary of some sort which is why i don’t consider street style sites as blogs

Hope it’s Tavi, Garance and Hanneli. They are definitely the best. I’m tired of sea of shoes, she’s not fashion just a consumer.

I love what Fiona (#27) said about sea of shoes- it’s so spot on.

OH wow! that is incredible!
great post Britt!
Merry Christmas :)

Sea of Shoes is full of photos of herself wearing expensive labels!
She’s a rich kid showing off her wardrobe!WTF!

Karla from Karla’s Closet and Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere recently blogged that they were in NYC too…

She’s new but I’m really enjoying reading http://avogueidea.wordpress.com/
for her fashion analysis and interesting behind the scenes photos.

surprised they didn’t choose Fluff Chance from emperorsoldclothes. He’s the only one the NYTimes wrote a 2 page story on in the Style section. Probably , because he doesn’t kiss ass like the others. Too bad. A little diversity would show how democratic they SHOULD be.

Susie Bubble was apparently asked but couldn’t do it because she lives in London

I wish it was me and my blog (motherofstyle.com)!!… but since it’s not I am happy for all the other bloggers. I love that the internet has given so many of us a way to explore fashion and to share our personal style.

gag me with a spoon. this feature is a dying glossy’s attempt to stay relevant; featuring blogs in sync with its own designer-fellating perspective is just a way for vogue to claim it still knows what it’s talking about. it doesn’t. not interested.
