Next Monday marks Christie’s final photography auction of 2009 and with it, comes a Richard Avedon image.
The portrait’s of Babe Paley, the New York socialite of whom Truman Capote famously said, “Babe Paley had only one fault, she was perfect. Otherwise, she was perfect.”
Along with the photograph of the style icon, which is expected to go for $15,000, is the David Bailey image of Roman Polanski and Sharon Tate after the jump (side boob warning).
An Ansel Adams and Ed Weston are also up for auction and everything’s on public view at Christie’s from Thursday, December 3 through Sunday, December 6.
If you’re not a Margiela kind of girl after all, put this on your list instead.
