She’s heading to California this weekend to shoot both the cover and an accompanying editorial for “a new European fashion mag.” Meanwhile, we hear she’ll be spotted on a Teen Vogue page quite soon and then, something Parisian.

Hilarious some of the people the fashion press is telling us to accept as “it girls.” Someone who looks like something the cat dragged in with a grave-digger forehead, and a few hipster friends is now supposed to be admired for her style and – even more hilarious – her looks? When did that memo come in?
Really, the fashion media loses more credibility by the second.
I wish ‘It Girls’ were actually interesting. I’m sick of people celebrating moderately attractive girls with all-black, designer wardrobes, and then stuffing them down our throats via magazine editorials, covers, and articles. It’s rare that these girls are actually intelligent (Cory Kennedy anyone?) or have something engaging to say…on any subject.
And Faran, give it a rest, seriously. I’m pretty sure that #1 meant that instead of us paying attention to the crisis in Haiti, we’re buying into the hype of someone like Becka Diamond. Oh but you do work at Nylon, so you would wouldn’t you?
#1, I already sent my package of canned goods and some clothing. If you can’t afford the shipping costs, just tell them you want the “book rate”; it will get there in the same amount of time as regular ground delivery but at about half the cost.
If you don’t want to be waited on by Becka, there’s a short pudgy guy there who’s really knowledgeable and fun.
I think “moderately attractive” is generous. If Becka is “moderately attractive” then I’m Cindy effing Crawford. Dree Hemingway…sure, she is a “Hemingway,” really pretty, we get it. But don’t try to ram some girl who looks like something out of “Night of the Living Dead” down our throats. It’s a joke.
#8, I get what you’re trying to say and I feel the same way most of the time but let everyone do their thing because when life eventually calls them out on it and they have nothing to show other than their “It” status, it will their problem and not yours.

Hilarious and spot on comments. Not only is Becka Diamond an unattractive and less than creative dresser, she’s also pretty disgusting on the inside. I had the misfortune of knowing this beast before she became Becka “diamond” and she was always unpleasant and STARVED for fashion notoriety. Guess she got her wish. And all the fashion lemmings comply. So sad.

Rashomon I was about 20 seconds into that video and I wanted to impale myself. That was beyond painful to watch, that was torturous! Homegirl could not string a sentence together, and she looked like another Becka Diamond, Rick Owens wearing clone. Oh and she said ‘epi-tome’ instead of epitome :O

no, i did not go trolling through the archives to find this. i read your huffington post piece, and was immediately reminded of piece you wrote for fashionista in 2007, because i admired how blatant you were about your feelings towards fur. i tried posting this on the huffpo website first, but they denied it.

Oh she works at Kirna Zabete? Well that explains how she has the expensive clothing. Employee discount people!! Plus if you’re an employee you get the inside info on when the big sales are at the store you work for, can snag the best stuff already on steep discount, then use your employee discount on top of that as well. I was wondering.. bc her apt is nothing special at all. She posts on twitter what she’s wearing everyday like she’s an international style icon, but funnily enough she never seems to twitter that she’s working.. retail!
