FIRST LOOK: Zac Posen for Target Lookbook
By Britt Aboutaleb Thursday, Jan 14, 2010 / 10:39 PM
If yesterday’s blurry Gaultier for Target image left you unsatisfied, here’s the complete Zac Posen for Target lookbook.
The collection’s 100% Zac, made for a woman who likes to dress up, but might not have a red carpet to walk every other week.
It’s mostly dresses, highlights include a sleeveless floral mini with a massive side bow ($74), a well-cut purple polka-dot number with thick seams ($39), and the long printed gown at left ($69).
Swimsuits come in gold lame ($40) and tie dye (so do tees), skirts are basic black in flouncy cuts ($40) and Zac’s even included a slim black suit ($90).
You’ll have to wait until April 25th to buy it, but click through to see the whole collection.

hmm – apart from a couple of pieces, they look pretty blah.. his range for Australian Target was so much more unique IMHO

I am obsessed with this line. I will now be saving all my money. Though my birthday’s only four days after it comes out. Maybe I’ll just ask for Target giftcards.

some of it i really like, and some of it looks just like average stuff you could find anywhere. the gold lame stuff looks straight out of american apparel. but i am really excited to see it in person!

This would be great, but I’m imagining all of these pieces in cheap target fabric… So I’m not sure how this would work in reality.

it’s amazing what one can do with a factory of desperate and cheap workers.I imagine for about 15% of the retail price it could have been made in America if facilities exist still.that being said, things are tough all over.cute enough I guess.

The floral dress with the giant bow makes me insanely joyous.

I love the yellow jacket and the white lipstick tank! I’d want to see the collection in person – it’s very zac!

Dear Target:
If you could let me get my hands on the Red Leather before April 25th I would be eternally thankful and never cheat on you with Walmart or Costco again!

Um… that hideous “safety-pin” print blouse is not a style we need to relive. Ever.
i wish fashion photogs, models and designers would quit already with the skinny, bird-like figures and the emphasis on their UNREALISTIC shapes. Honest to god, I am NOT sold on any of these outfits since they’re being modeled on a person with VERY different size from my own and most other American women. I’m under average weight for my height but hell if I look like that starving waif.
BUT I admit, the dresses are adorable.

After waiting at the door at 8 a.m. for Target to open for their new designer lines SO many times, I am over it. My “conspiracy theory” is that they only have these collections to make the Mossimo – which is always right next to it – look far better at a cheaper price, and 99% of the time, that is the case. I would gladly pay a little more if they would stop using so much polyester for the designer clothing.

There is no such thing as a real model or a fake
She’s just a face you have seen before in magazine editorials
Love the collection for Target
flirty chic style
Congrats Zac Posen

Wow. After reading all the comments I thought the collection would have me salivating for April 25. But… I apparently am the only one who thinks it’s borderline atrocious! It looks like stuff for 8th graders circa 1993.
I wanted to like it, but no.

i particularly like the tuxedo-motif stuff (the bodysuit is my fave), the red strapless dress, and the purple polka-dot dress. the rest of it is, for me, a pass. thanks for the heads-up, fashionista ;)

I think its safe to say, Zac has a thing for Rebecca De Mornay in the movie Risky Business. Right down to the styling of the model. As with any Target/designer collabo there are some obvious hits and misses.

Some of it’s cute… too bad ZP only designs for stick figures.

I love that floral dress and that red swimsuit though obviously I’d had to see how they looked IRL…I thought the GG collection was going to be great and then it looked hideous in the store.
Why is everyone complaining about the model? Have they never seen a fashion magazine before? They only use 90 lb 17 year old girls. We all know this. Nothing will change.

every designer line that i’ve seen at target has been of poor quality and are ill-fitting, which is too bad because a lot of the styles have been cute.
