It's no secret that I often take issue with some of the editorial and design choices made at Harper's Bazaar, but I'll state again for the record that it only upsets me because this is a title I used to love very dearly. This morning I received an email with the newsstand and subscriber cover shots of Miley Cyrus for the February issue of the magazine. While there is nothing about Miley that, in my opinion, has even an inkling to do with fashion, I do recognize her value from a selling perspective. (Laugh if you will, but I also sneaky like "Party in the USA", though I prefer to watch this version of the video.) And Glenda Bailey obviously tried steering the styling away from the kiddie porn shitstorm that the Annie Leibowitz VF pictures stirred up. But why on earth does this look like Tiffani Amber Thiessen on a bad cover of something circa 1992? Holy bad hair! Though Zack Morris would definitely dig it, and the dress. The interview itself makes attempts to steer things in a vague style direction, seeing as this is supposed to be a fashion magazine. We learned that Miley likes Barneys and Loree Rodkin jewels paired with a white tee. "I thought it was so cool when girls would ask me, What's your shirt? And I'm like, Hanes, but I have $60,000 worth of jewelry on top of it!" We'd love to hear your thoughts. Fire away.
