According to The Moment’s twitter account, Pop will fly teeny bopper blogger Tavi Gevinson to Paris next week to attend the couture shows, and we assume cover them for tavi.thepop.com.
1. When are you going to move to New York and start getting home-schooled, Ms. Tavi?
2. When you leave school for weeks at a time to cover shows, whether in Paris or New York, do your teachers make you keep a journal? Do you get to do extra credit?
The Moment has since removed the tweet, but we saw it with our own eyes, so can somebody confirm this?

Honestly, I don’t really have an opinion of Tavi either way. People like her, so why not hire her? We just thought it was interesting news.
It’ll definately be a big slap in the face to the many journalists and editors who have been covering these Haute Couture shows for decades. I’m excited!

there is a big difference between tavi missing classes and a college student who’s over 18 missing classes.
as a college student i’ll be the first to stress the importance of an education. but one of the biggest reasons i’m in school (in nyc) is to facilitate my entry into fashion.
tavi has had opportunities that most of us can only dream of, so the jealously is understandable. but if she never had her blog and carried on as an anonymous teenager and went to university just to slave away at some thankless internship, would we feel better about our own mediocrity? the girl is doing what she wants to be doing in life; who cares if she skipped a few steps? given the chance i’d do the same damn thing.
They better give her some extra credit, cause that little lady is ingenious. I think she’s adorable and can write better than most people 5x her age… including myself…

On a sidenote, many have questioned her writing abilities, including Anne Slowey. Some have even stated that she has a team of writers working with her on the website. Either way, I don’t care. She has a unique, quirky style and a great persona.

I was jealous, but then I realized that I have absolutely nothing to wear anyway, so whatever.
i wonder if tavi is even old enough to be a “woman?” she is going to bite it once she has hormones. its all fun and games til then…
i think it might be a matter of months before she gets offered a spot at some fashion school and graduate from university aged 17.

Interest in somebody only lasts whilst they can generate interest. If she does a great job, she’ll continue to do well for herself. If she sucks, she’ll fade away before long.
