In stark contrast to the other teen star's magazine cover we wrote about today, we're huge fans of Dakota Fanning's V cover (one of two for the issue -- the second belongs to Precious' Gabourey Sidibe.) Inside, Dakota chats about her role in The Runaways and how she's finally able to wear a size zero without having to take it in: "Now that I'm getting older, I'm finally getting to the point where I can fit into those things." She also mentions how much she loved shooting the film, co-starring Kristen Stewart: "I really enjoyed doing that subject matter for the first time in a biopic, because it really happened, it's not just a made-up story about a 15-year-old running wild. It's a true story of her evolution from good Valley Girl to bad rock 'n roll princess."
Speaking of Valley girl, Dakota is totally having a Sharon Tate/Valley of the Dolls moment on the cover. We are loving the big hair, bashful pose and over-sized sweater. And the grey palette serves as the perfect complement to her classic 60s look. Now this is one cover we're happy to stare at. V63 hits newsstands January 14th. We're looking forward to seeing how the rest of this issue came out.
