More bad news on the downsizing front: Versace’s closed their US press office, just days after Lagerfeld let go of their top PR.
It’s painful news for their in-house PR team, but fantastic news for PR Consulting. The agency (named for owner Pierre Rougier) can add another client to their already impressive roster which includes Balenciaga, Dries Van Noten, Jil Sander, Proenza Schouler and Narciso Rodriguez.
Versace has hired the company to handle their US public relations including sample requests and US Press. Events and marketing, however, will continue to be handled by the in-house team, just in Italy instead of New York.
Hopefully that’s the last we hear of cut backs for a while.
