Going Commando at Calvin Klein Men’s
By Matt Kinsey
We were front row at Calvin Klein today, so we’ll let the pictures do the talking.
But before you start clicking, hear us out for just one moment, please:
More exciting than cameos by Ryan Phillipe and Mr. Crawford was creative director Italo Zucchelli’s return to the palette he knows best: Black, brown and white.
Keeping within the minimalist vein CK is celebrated for, Zucchelli dove head-first into texture. Leather jackets in onyx and grey resembled futuristic, rubbery animal skins. A Mylar (metalized nylon) overcoat was as light and prismatic as a balloon. Two suits, one in an optic square pattern and the other made entirely of silk mesh, drew gasps.
And speaking of gasps, can we just ask the question on everyone’s mind? When did not wearing underwear become a requisite for walking in a CK show? Did anyone watching the Web feed see what we saw?
