“In some respects this was her most assertive anti-fashion statement in awhile. Something about these clothes…felt so outside current fashion and obsessions…True, some of the outfits almost dared you to call them ugly. But the methods of examination have begun to feel dated.” –Cathy Horyn on Miuccia Prada’s AW10 collection.

As some one who has appreciated only a few of the many Prada collections in the past, I have to say that this one was one of the strongest in recent years. Bravo Miuccia!

I liked the collection.

I tend to agree somewhat but would love to know what Cathy Horyn's “methods of examination” are..

Completely agree. I have loved every photo that has been posted from that show.

Methods be damned, I thought the collection blew chunks and I talk all about it on my blog. : )

haha.. calvin you're funny. i like your blog and i think you might appreciate my post on grace coddington and andre leon talley today: http://blog.designersocial.com

There is not doubt that La Horyn was being sarcastic–Prada has always spoken about her approach to fashion as one being more rooted in philosophy and academia that in saleability. I love Miuccia's “fashion contrarian” stance, but have to admit that it's a bit stale at this point, just going from reaction to reaction. You kind of want a little more rigor from her because you know she's capable of it. Still, I loved the collection, and am looking forward to rocking the wooly tights with the needlenose stilettoes. Hell, I may even do that now (as soon as the snow thaws and the icy puddles dry up!)

Me? Funny. Noo! Haha. PS thanks for the comment on my blog!! I checked out yours too [and the website as well]. Very nice! While I think ALT is annoying like no one's business, I adore Grace! Still a good post, though.
