In Descente: The Winter Olympics are about to begin up in Vancouver. Much like when the world went gaga over Michael Phelps' Speedo, one of the biggest apparel stories will have to do with Canadian speedskaters donning Descente-made bodysuits composed of very aerodynamic fabrics that make them go verrrrry fast. Apparently, the suits make skaters look like they're "wearing seal skins with black knee pads and clear wrap around their abdomen and thighs. And "crisscrossed black panels on the front and red panels running down the back conjure the image of a Sherpa." We know you'll want one. {The New York Times}

McQueen's Last Design: One of the tragic designer's last creations was a Canadian-themed scarf for Holt Renfrew to coincide with the Olympics. His skulls were transposed onto maple leaves. {GlobeandMail}

Snow Shoes: Snowpocalypse has resulted in some inventive footwear solutions, as this slideshow shows.{HuffPo}
