Between Cushnie and Jen Kao I got the bright idea to run up to Barneys for Olivier Theyskens’ book launch.
Kate and I got to Barneys early and killed time drooling over PS1s until Celine Dion walked in (as if yesterday could have gotten any weirder). We swept through the 4th floor, stopped in our tracks by the Joseph Altuzarra shoe collection, and I got a peek at Olivier, flipped through his book–gorgeous–and ran out the door.
With 10 minutes to spare until Jen’s show at 6 (I almost, for a split second, asked a socialite if I could share her cab), I hopped on the subway and then ran, ran, ran to Milk.
When, I wonder, will I stop running to shows? I know they start at least 30 minutes late, and yet I get anxious, I run, I’m frazzled and always left with time to kill in my seat. (This seat held an Eddie Borgo for Jen Kao earring, so waiting wasn’t really an issue.)
Jen stuck with a palette of geometric shapes, but mixed things up with dark colors including burgundy and forest green. She worked with velvet (so did Cushnie), bodysuits and leather shorts. The first few knit dresses looked like chunky Mark Fast, but the leather bodiced gowns at the end more than made up for the misstep.
In fact, the last look has Angelina Jolie’s name written all over it, and that’s the kind of attention Jen deserves.

Forget about cabs or those fancy cars outside Milk, if you girls were up for some danger and risk the high chance of accidents, I could've taken anyone to every show in 7 minutes on my bike. 2010 is all about fast fashion.

I loved that oxblood leather mini dress with the full skirt. The velvet romper was pretty interesting too.
