Fall 2010 New York, Fashion Shows, Fashion Week
Label to Watch: Paris68
By Lauren ShermanI had no idea what to expect from the Paris68 runway show last Thursday.
I did know that the collection was designed by Marcella Lindeberg, wife of Johan Lindeberg (J. Lindeberg to you) and that the couple has played an integral consulting role in the William Rast label almost since its inception. Ms. Biel and Mr. Timberlake sat front row in support of Marcella, right next to her husband.
Beyond that, I was clueless. I knew that I liked what William Rast has been up to, and that J. Lindeberg makes nice clothes for men. What I was presented with at Paris68 was a wardrobe of cool, glittery, sexy clothes that I could actually see myself wearing. (Please understand that I just don’t do glitter under normal circumstances.)
The outfit I’m definitely buying: a white puffed-sleeved blouse matched with pleated black leather pants. There were also some great dresses, particularly a fringed silver lame style that also comes in matte black (my preference), a sparkly marled grey crew neck sweater, and glove-like grey jersey pants.
While it’s too early to know where Paris68 will be stocked come fall, I suspect it’ll show up at Barneys New York, Saks Fifth Avenue and definitely lots of shops abroad. (It’ll fit perfectly at in Le Bon Marche or Selfridges.)
