Yesterday was Michael Kors. Today was Ralph Lauren.

Both are from New York (Kors hails from Long Island, Ralph from the Bronx.) Both are known for their distinctly American style. Michael caters to the fur-laden woman with nude, tan legs. Ralph caters to the gal in the plaid riding jacket with a nude, tan face.

This season, Michael’s woman won. While Ralph’s runway was fine–lots of velvet, prairie skirts, long colorful beads–it was staid. Nothing–and I mean nothing–felt new.

Michael, on the other hand, made sportswear exciting. His coyote vest with a camel stretch cashmere bodysuit was beautiful, but so were his double-faced wool coats–the sharp slits at the elbows gave them an edge only a sophisticate like Michael could pull off. I could have done without the lurex dresses at the end, but otherwise, it was one of my favorite shows of the week. To be sure, Lauren Hutton will be wearing this stuff come fall.

Kors all the way. it was gorgeous and wearable for a younger woman for once. Kors accessories usually work for younger girls, but the clothes this time would work for anybody. Def my favorite of the week so far.

Yes, Kors. That is all.

kors kors kors. I'll soon be making my 'go michael!' dance.

Lauren because Kors is DIOR lite

I don't really care for either, since they both safely repeat the same collections and AD CAMPAIGNS EVERY BLOODY YEAR!(BTW MICHAEL COULD YOU SHOOT CARMEN SOMEWHERE ELSE NEXT YEAR, THE JET HANGAR AND HOLLYWOOD SCENES ARE GETTING OLD. WHY NOT SHOOT HER IN WILLIAMSBURG OR THE LOWER EAST SIDE LEAVING “THE COCK”?) And to be honest, secretly I thought the Tommy Hilfiger collection was better than both of these. But if I had to choose it would be Kors, his collection, even though the staging was the same as it is every year, the collection was very sexy, luxurious, youthful and so Americana. Ralph on the other hand the usual peasantry and gypsy looks of polos worn with long beaded or floral skirts and riding boots. My best friend who works for the Mansion is going to kill me if he reads this, since he is all about RALPH, RALPH, RALPH. Ralph is a hot stuffy mess and should channel a more youthful approach! I'd be glad to offer some suggestions.

Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren's fashion is timely since it showcases the forecasted colors for year 2010. Blue and silver are the major colors for 2010. I like to wear Japan's fashion since it gives me a contemporary look and I learned this fashion tip from http://www.vedicimage.com/' title='The Vedic Image Group' rel=”nofollow”>image consulting group@866-565-7541
