This was my first Prada show. It did not disappoint. The set. The patent loafers. The waxed leather suits. The Hitchcockian hair that was too modern to actually be called Hitchcockian. And the knee highs, oh the knee highs. But I think Kate summed it up best:

Lauren: Did you like it? Kate: YES. Loved it. Lauren: Me too! Kate: And loved the hair. Lauren: Oh yes! The knitted cardi and skirt sets killed me. As did the little bits of fur on some of the jackets. Kate: As I told Britt: "Marc and Miuccia were on the same page this year for fall." Both collections were very ladylike. Very Mad Men. Very feminine and clean. I just loved it. Lauren: I might quote you on that. Kate: Please do.

What I think MJ and MP both did this season--something they both failed to do last season--was use restraint in their designs. When passionate, sometimes outlandish creatives use restraint in their work, the results can close in on perfection.
