Prada’s Pristine Pack
By Lauren Sherman
This was my first Prada show. It did not disappoint. The set. The patent loafers. The waxed leather suits. The Hitchcockian hair that was too modern to actually be called Hitchcockian. And the knee highs, oh the knee highs. But I think Kate summed it up best:
Lauren: Did you like it?
Kate: YES. Loved it.
Lauren: Me too!
Kate: And loved the hair.
Lauren: Oh yes! The knitted cardi and skirt sets killed me. As did the little bits of fur on some of the jackets.
Kate: As I told Britt: “Marc and Miuccia were on the same page this year for fall.” Both collections were very ladylike. Very Mad Men. Very feminine and clean. I just loved it.
Lauren: I might quote you on that.
Kate: Please do.
What I think MJ and MP both did this season–something they both failed to do last season–was use restraint in their designs. When passionate, sometimes outlandish creatives use restraint in their work, the results can close in on perfection.

I LOVE every look here. I would buy any one of them.
Miuccia Prada just can't go wrong. She always knows where we want to be next in terms of mood and look. This collection is just stunning.

I don't know how you can get mad about how you're a real journalist in the next post, and then do a post like this. Anyone can have a conversation with their girlfriend exactly like this–the difference between this and what Suzy Menkes does is that she refrains from the “I love it!”s and instead gives intelligent and insightful reviews and context. I'm not saying you're not allowed to gush your opinions, but that's why you have a blog (one that I read, by the way, so don't think I'm attacking anyone) and not an IHT or NYT column.
I like the a line skirts.
The one with the hoodies and 70's hair didn't quite look as stunning as the rest but as a whole the ensemble is pulled off. Skirts here are a highlight.

Google listing should just be googled.
Although you pulled out the best looks in the show, I think it was frumpy and unflattering and the styling didn't help. When you consider the very beautiful models like Miranda Kerr that were used they ended up looking like mugshots of Myra Hindley.
I love the way you describe this show-just the right words. Very precise for precise clothes.
And the NYTimes scorecard thought so too.
so Anon, like put a sock in it.
