I was confident Peter Jensen’s presentation at Milk Studios would be good.
Not only am I huge fan of the Danish-born, London-based designer’s Scandinavia-inspired aesthetic (his “nurse” dress is one of my all-time favorite pieces of clothing) but I also love Nina Persson of late-90s band The Cardigans, who just happened to be performing at the presentation.
As the packed room listened to Persson’s renditions of Valentine’s Day favorites like Wreckless Erik’s “(I’d Go) The Whole Wide World,” Jensen presented us with a sweet collection of plaid velvet shorts, zippered jackets with Red Riding Hood-style babushkas and plenty of pretty, 1940s-style dresses that were very much in sync with United Bamboo’s Saturday show. (Karen Elson seemed to like it, too!)
The only thing I didn’t love? The shoes, which were a bit clunky.
