In a way, I feel like Marni was the precursor to Isabel Marant‘s cultish success. Much like Marant, Marni was around for quite some time before it became a must-wear. And also like Marant, people who love Marni really love Marni, and you can tell a Marni girl from miles away. It seemed that everyone in the audience at this morning’s show was wearing a piece of Marni–except for me. (I left my sole piece–a graphic necklace–at home.)
There was plenty of “propaganda” in Consuelo Castiglioni’s fall collection for followers to buy into. The battle for pièce de résistance was between a graphic tee in several colors and a futuristic skirt suit with a peplum waist that came in dusty pink and black. Castiglioni’s usual details–jeweled necklaces, slightly off colors, graphic prints–were all in place, ready to delight her loyal customers.
