Zac Posen Has a New Angle
By Britt Aboutaleb
Last month’s New York Times article made Zac Posen’s AW10 show seem extra important.
His Target collection hits stores in couple of months, but can he make his own line work?
He’s definitely willing to try something new. The kid who showed sweeping ballgowns on evening runways with grand pianos has replaced the spectacle with a subdued, early morning show and a handful of cocktail dresses scattered among pantsuits (though the live music stayed).
There was camel and capes and hot pink and floral prints, slacks and blazers and mesh and, obviously, velvet. Manolo Blahnik made fur and jewel encrusted shoes which made us realize this season’s been severely lacking in the shoe department.
