Boy., the women’s collection from Band of Outsiders designer Scott Sternberg, is one of our top five favorite labels. However, the hefty price tag hinders us from buying as much as we’d like to.

That’s why it’s so exciting that Sternberg plans to launch girl., a diffusion line for those who can’t afford $1,700 blazers.

We’re hoping girl. includes a lower-priced version of the designer’s bandage skirt, which we’ve been lusting after for several seasons. (Kirsten Dunst, shown at left, demonstrates its perfection.)

Sternberg wants to push his sales from $12 million to $40 million over the next three years, and he understands that in order to accomplish such a feat, he must broaden his customer base.

Jumping from $12 million to $40 million is not an easy task. To put it in perspective: 3.1 Phillip Lim brought in about $50 million in sales last year, while Alexander Wang garnered $25 million.

When you consider the number of storefronts Wang and Lim are in and compare it with Sternberg, his goals seem lofty. But with a lower-priced collection to better compete with those aforementioned brands, as well as some of our other favorites like Acne and Isabel Marant, it’s a possibility. Especially if he gets financial backing from a private equity firm.

I wish Scott launched a lower-priced men's line as well, that would be amazing!

Well he is doing some less-expensive polos on the e-commerce site.

Fashionista used to be better written than this. I'm disappointed.

Why don't all of you “dissapointed-in-Fashionista” folks make a club, pack up, and go elsewhere?

*disappointed*. Dang!

I agree with grammyweezy. I come to this website to get info, not critique the writing and grammar featured here. I get tired of seeing a bunch of whiny b!tches (pardon the crude choice of words) have something to say about EVERYTHING that happens on this site. This is a blog, of sorts – a free one, mind you – not a paid publication. If it's that serious, form up your own damn blog, run it how you choose, and spell words however you want. Probably half the complainers here wouldn't have the slightest idea how to even START a successful website, let along keep it running.

Please….some of you self-righteous “fashionistas” kill me.

P.S. There's certainly a difference between constructive criticism and just being plain rude. Some of you are plain rude. And then have the nerve to post under anonymous names or relegate yourselves to the usage of initials. Pussies.

Oh, and before anyone decides to accuse Lauren or Britt or any other of the staff here of using another name to lash out at stupid guests, DON'T. My name is Ian. If you want to bitch, ask me for my e-mail address. I'll be GLAD to provide it.

Lauren, Britt, et all….keep up the good work.
