Fashion Embraces Jersey Shore

Wednesday, Mar 3, 2010 / 2:12 PM

The Situation poses with Bar Rafaeli for Interview.

The Girls show up in Harper’s Bazaar.

And New York‘s The Cut cuts into WWD for its cattiness towards J-WOWW and Snooki.

It’s official: Fashion’s Finest heart Jersey Shore.

And you know what? They should.

The Jersey Shore gang embraces its guido-dom. Unlike tacky types of the past–ahem, Heidi Montag–these people aren’t trying to be anything but themselves.

And that makes them, in their own way, truly fashionable.

Except they're not being themselves. Snooki is Chilean, not Italian, and JWoww is of Irish heritage.

I agree with katie266, only one of the cast members is even from New Jersey, and not even from a part considered “the shore,” I might add.

As bizarre as they are…they are entertaining!

as long as they don't shop at dress barn, right?

Plus none of them are from the Jersey Shore (Staten Island Guidettes), they invade it and upset the townies-giving the shore a BAD NAME!!!

Super-proud Italian-Americans are almost never anything more than 1/4 Italian; the kids on this show don't claim to be from the shore (Snooki was offended when someone suggested that she did hail from “the shore”), and I'm pretty sure there are lots of other things that give the Jersey Shore a bad name. I think the reason everyone loves these people is that they are so guileless and candid.

I live in a very nice town in what is considered the “shore” area of New Jersey, and there is not a single person like any of these characters who live there. I could care less if they give that area of the shore a bad name, as long as it keeps guidos/visiting people out of mine, I am happy.

I think JWOWW is half Italian. She mentioned about being half on some talk show.
