Going to the Gym With Roland Mouret
By Britt Aboutaleb
The best thing about having a standing ticket is being forced to wait outside until minutes before the show starts.
With the sun shining and a giant cup of coffee, I got to watch the entrance parade at RM by Roland Mouret. At this point, there are more street style photographers than there are people to photograph; it’s like a circus.
This morning people actually lingered (including one woman with bare legs who must’ve been frozen!) and gave the photographers pleading looks, practically begging to have their picture taken.
Then I realized that if I had a paper invite I didn’t have to wait outside after all, and skipped into the gym. Giant ballooned lanterns hung from the glass roof and the girls made ‘X’s across the floor in sexy draped dresses with layered vests and leather jackets. Pin-heeled pink suede Louboutins matched every outfit, even the fuschia and for a line known for lady-like dresses there were plenty of pants and tops.
And yes, there was velvet, but Mouret used it as an accent instead of a full look, which obviously explains the loud cheers at the end of the show.

uhh, so jealous. Was dying to go to RM. Expirienced the same on a Issay Miyake show, loads of dressed-up girls trying to get noticed by another sartorialist. Though, I have to say, I've heard about the girl with bare legs from some other sourse today! She's getting famous.
Britt if you were bothered to at least put a come through your unruly hair, maybe someone would want to take your photo.
For a blogger you are as miserable as those front row editors.
