The moment I stepped into Helmut Lang‘s studio this morning, I knew I was in trouble.
I survived the winter without succumbing to the brand’s perfect grey leather leggings. But of course, creative directors Nicole and Michael Colovos are bringing them back for fall, just to torture me.
New things to salivate over: Mixed media leather jackets, a perfect fur snood in grey or black, an oyster-colored silk and leather t-shirt as well as several versions of an ice-skating skirt. The collection includes every type of textile imaginable: textured wool, fur woven into cashmere, blistered leather and silk crepe.
For those who prefer prints, the duo designed several for the collection, including one inspired by gravel and another by vertebrae.
This season, the Colovoses studied the work of Santiago Calatrava, a Spanish architect. You can see it in everything from the colors–grey, black and some rust–to the structuring–sharp, detailed and yes, industrial.
See my favorite looks from the fall collection, as well as a few from Helmut Lang Denim, after the jump.

oh no, that fur vest is brilliant. too bad working in retail doesn't warrant buying anything in retail these days.
The very last picture, the coat with the fur collar, is absolutely stunning. And it's totally wearable, which a lot of new fashions aren't.
That's from the denim line and is khaki, so the price point probably isn't too bad!
lang is not lang without helmut. this line has gone nowhere since he left. there are a lot of clothes out there that look like these. nice try, but i'm not buying it.
Nice!
I particularly liked picture # 13. Very chic! It can be worn in an office or in a corporate function.
