It’s Fashion Month, and we are all mentally in AW 2010. Trust me, I’m as excited as everyone else to get my hands on a shearling coat, new chunky booties, and maybe something with a little bit of, um, velvet. (And I can’t wait to see what Lanvin and Isabel Marant do in Paris).
Everyone is talking and writing about fall, but in the real world, I confess I’m craving spring. Especially the shoes.
The ultimate rite of spring passage is when you can get a pedicure and walk around in completely impractical shoes, knowing that you can step off a curb without sinking up to your ankles in sludge.
Color and whimsy should rule in the spring. We’re sick of grey skies and salt-splattered cars. And with Alice in Wonderland everywhere in fashion right now, I want to embrace the wackiness. This season, shoes don’t have to be dainty or simply strappy.
For days when I’m feeling frou frou, Miu Miu’s satin mary janes decorated with critters and daisies would perk up my neutral wardrobe. As would the swoon-worthy Gallianos’ adorned with feathers, Swiss dots, and pearlized gumball heels.
To complement the rest of my wardrobe, I’ll be seeking out multi-seasonal open-toed booties. Alexander Wang’s Freja zip-up version will remain on my computer browser until I can figure out how to actually pay for them. And Balenciaga‘s tribal booties are fun to contemplate.
In the meantime, I’m pulling on wool socks and watching the Paris shows, waiting for my feet to thaw out.
What are you looking forward to wearing this spring?

i like to wear christian louboutin shoes ,it makes me looks more tall and charming.discountlouboutin
Shoes are not only made with fashion in mind; they are also made to be comfortable. For example, if a shoe has a high narrow heel then how the front is created will make all the difference to the comfort and longevity. Will the heel pop off? Will the straps snap at the most inopportune time?cheapsexyshoes
i've been dreaming about those shoes ever since alexa chung tweeted about them ( http://twitpic.com/1538qc ) a-mazing.
I love those shoes, but the ones I am craving are the Vuitton clogs with furry tassel and then the Proenza platforms for fall. It seems there is no fashion recession when it comes to prices, though. How did the shoe market get so crazy? So many shoes are over 1000$ now, which just kills me.
so beautyfull shoes in the world
I loved the Wardrobe in the new Alice movie…I especially enjoyed how Alice's blue dress changed styles everytime she changed sizes…
I predict a lot of designers will find inspiration in that movie…
My gorgeous lizard sandals from Phi… DYING to wear them! http://styledon.com/articles/going-going-the-ph…
I have been looking forward to wearing these fantastic pair of Christian Louboutins that are open toe and made up of a bunch of letters in white leather. The front of the high heel is stitched up by black leather that looks like a shoe lace. The heel of this shoe is lime green. Incredible. Something you would definitely see on Serena from gossip girl.

Have you seen the red and white ones like this with the red birds on the heels? They're amazing, and I love them, and I really want a pair. I just can't find them anywhere. Very frustrating.
