I have a friend who was one of the nominees for best visual effects this year. His group did not win. Anyhoo, no oscar swag for him! Nothing, nada, zero. I guess only the on screen high profile celebrities get any loot. All he brought back was a few mini “chocolate” Oscars from the Governor's Ball for the kids. He was also nominated for a BAFTA, and while the swag was nothing like describe for the Oscars, the organizers did give some wonderful champagne, some fabulous beauty products – just enough to make everyone feel special, but not outrageous amounts. I think it's takcy that some nominees are deemed more worthy than others at the Oscars by the organizers.

If you are an actor in the United States you are lucky if you can find work. The average salary of actors is FAR less than you'd expect, since the ones who made $0 are figured into the averages. If you were nominated in a category other than acting you make far less also.

this is an outrage!!!!! Hmmm….they are already in an industry in which they are grossly overpaid, ya, lets give them 91k in free stuff–JUST CUZ!. I hope all recipients donate to CHARITY!!!!
