With co-founders Gela Nash-Taylor and Pamela Skaist-Levy out, Juicy Couture is trying a new, even frillier approach.
The Liz Claiborne-owned label has brought on New York-based Erin Fetherston as a consultant and guest designer. Fetherston’s tenure will begin in May and will last for about a year, slated to end with the brand’s holiday 2011 collection.
A big part of her job will be coming up with a “fresh and modern re-imagining” of the Juicy tracksuit. Known primarily for pretty pastel frocks, we’re assuming Fetherston will do something with jersey, and maybe even some techno fabrics. But who knows? Velour is the poor man’s velvet.
If Fetherston’s work helps to restore Juicy’s image and boost sales, we have a feeling she’ll be staying around for more than a year.

Ugh she's so terrible. They deserve each other.
I love Erin Fetherston. I can't think of anyone better to help Juicy Couture elevate it's image.
