CharityBuzz is hosting an auction to benefit the RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights–it went live this morning.
There may be prizes involving Robert DeNiro, John Cusack, Shepard Fairey and even Oprah, but it’s the Vogue package you’ll want to bid on.
The winner gets some swag, The Teen Vogue Handbook, The September Issue, a couple of In Vogue books, and a copy of the magazine, but that’s nothing compared to the week you’ll get to spend on the 12th floor of 4 Times Square.
Sure, you’ll probably be interning, but the listing promises to be “tailored to the individual interests and skill set of the auction winner,” and really, who wouldn’t want to intern at Vogue for a week? Plus, you’ll get to meet Anna in person, which interns don’t do.
And, you’ll get a ticket to a show during New York Fashion Week. It probably won’t be Marc Jacobs, and you probably won’t sit next to Anna, but who cares when you’ve already met her?

Fashion industry hopefuls(or their wealthy parents) will be bidding like crazy for this probably once in a lifetime deal. I think this is a great idea but personally, I would want to feel the satisfaction that me, not my money, scored an internship and chance to meet Anna Wintour. http://www.onceuponafad.blogspot.com
It's like the Dior auction…Paying thousands for an unpaid internship…
As much as I worship Anna Wintour, this auction isn't practical for true fashionistas.. cause most of us are broke. However, agreed with OnceUponAfad that rich parents would do it for their kids.. I, personally, would want my talent to represent me and get me where I get rather than my bank account.
ps. if you wish you could intern for a fashion company but can't afford thousands.. just go to the University of Dreams website, they offer internships.. but you have to pay to intern for them.. they have pretty good clients though..
Sorry, can't afford that kind of money, and for her to put a prize on it, it's kinda shamefull inthis day and age….
so the only way to get an unpaid internship with a magazine is to pay for it? bit unfair, don't you think.
Uhmmm, seems you all missed the story line and point of the Vogue package … “CharityBuzz is hosting an auction to benefit the RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights” This isn't about granting an internship to a worthy candidate … it's about a worthy cause. Nothing “shameful” or “unfair” about Vogue's generosity. Kudos to them for coming up with such a creative auction item.
Uhhh ya, it is for charity!!! and nothing in life is free anyways!! lol The bidding is a $13,000 now and if I had it…..I would def. bid!! lol
if i had all the money in the world, I would bid a million. of course, if i had all the money in the world I'd probably have anna on speed dial.
I WOULD RATHER MEET GRACE CODDINGTON. SHE IS MY IDOL.
Please let a plus-sized person win, so she could rail on Anna all day!
I wouldn't care about spending that much money just to meet another human being. But if it's for a good cause then YES!
