Teen Vogue‘s Coming Back to TV

Friday, Apr 23, 2010 / 2:29 PM

Teen Vogue has a new TV show in the works.

I sat on a panel with Amy Astley and Andy Hilfiger yesterday, to talk to students at City College about careers in fashion, and she mentioned how much has changed since she started Teen Vogue seven years ago and how magazines have to work ten times harder to stay relevant.

The magazine’s Editor-in-Chief mentioned engaging readers and establishing a brand and their successful participation in The Hills before mentioning the “new TV show we’re developing.”

They won’t spill more details, but knowing how lovely (and pretty) the whole Teen Vogue staff is, a reality show could actually be different from everything currently on TV.

I would love a tv show about the interworkings of a fashion magazine. And not just stupid made up drama and gay guys postering, but the process of putting an issue together, from sourcing the products to the finished image. Kinda like what they did with the September issue(all the Grace Coddington parts), but as a series.

i was sitting in the front row of that event yesterday. britt – as that one girl commented during the Q&A session, you seem so down-to-earth and genuine. it's great to see a “nice girl” get ahead! amy even took the time to give me career advice during her book signing, which was really gracious on her part.

great panel discussion!

thanks erin! that's really nice to hear! i'm glad you enjoyed the discussion!

Thanks Britt – Glad you sat on the panel. I was the gal who asked the first question about the diffusion lines.

Would love to see more “blogger” lectures. Let me know if you have anything else in the works.

Thanks Britt

There was a reality show awhile ago called FASHIONISTA. It was about interns competing for a fashion magazine job.

I know one of the reality stars is now working for HL Group.

Awesome, just freaking awesome.
