This morning, the following pitch landed in the inbox of at least one reputable Manhattan PR agency:

To whom this may concern,
I am the designer of a product called the Backtacular gluteal cleft shield. It’s a hypoallergenic adhesive patch that is applied directly to the skin above the gluteal cleft area of the buttocks. The patch is made of denim with a rhine stone and/or rhine stud design. The product stops gluteal cleft exposure when wearing low rise apparel. The picture of Jennifer Garner below is courtesy of the TMZ ” Crack Is Wack” section of the TMZ website. The Backtacular Gluteal cleft patch is patent and trademark pending.
I would appreciate your consideration in taking my company on as a client.
Thank You,
Kimberly Brewer

The publicist who forwarded it on noted, “I just thought it was classy of her to name it “BACKtacular” instead of “CRACKtacular”. Somewhere, deep inside her core, she has SOME sense of decorum.”

We’ve checked out her site—you can purchase your own Backtacular Gluteal Cleft Shield for just $14.99—and it appears to be real. We’ve left out the picture of Jennifer Garner’s bottom that Kimberly was kind enough to include, but here’s a better look at the gluteal shields.

A new low, I think.

i don't like super low waisted jeans to begin with. they should be higher in the back anyhow, but that is just me

With this and a bump-it, you're set!!!!!

cracks are in – why cover butt cleavage?

Great gadget, but only fat builders should use it.

…. Is it just me or did anyone else think those were giant pant tags sticking out of the jeans? I can't believe someone actually thought this was a good idea. This is about as classy as a tribal tramp stamp that reads “Gringo”.

Embrace your cleft!http://www.hulu.com/watch/2310/saturday-night-l...Peace out coin slot dryness!

Crack, back and…whack

Peter, you never cease to amaze me.

hmmm…it seems like a ridiculous product. the crack can be solved by….*drum roll please* WEARING A FREAKIN BELT! It's not that difficult folks. Belts are made for a reason…let's use them please….

BAHAHAHAA such an awkward product. I don't think this one is gonna catch on.

I think I'd rather see asscrack

It's ridiculous! Why wear low rise jeans if you don't want your gluteal cleft to be exposed? There are also colored waist bands now that can be worn with the low rise jeans. They look more fashionable.

The best part is that we have Alexander McQueen and his 'Bumster' pants to thank for this..

horrible

For the plumber in your life… (now with a rhinestone whale's tail pattern)… :-)

Also…. “Kimberlily”?

or you know, wear pants that fit, or a shirt that fits and tucks in…I know, I know, I'm old school, but geez…and we wonder why 5th graders are doin' it in the classroom when people dress like this.

Their next product: The MONS-ter for anti-camel-toe!

how about some before / after shots?

What is the world coming to???

They would have a ready market among plumbers

They have a ready market among plumbers

As my wife said, “Or….you could wear a belt?”

Exactly what I also said :)

um.. couldn't they just wear pants that fit? simple solution lol.

When you like your butt crack, show it. For those who can handle this there is a nice pants for you:It is ridiculous to put some sticker on the place you actually want to show. When you wear super low pants it is because of this…For those who like it, look at this super low pants coming from Japan:http://www.sannas.jp/main/en/pants-jeans/nano-l...

Hilariously appropriate.

Where is the male version, now that would sell like hotcakes… all the wives and girlfriends would buy them for their guy

Because it's really not in and everyone with eyes thinks it's disgusting.

Or pants that fit right in the first place.

Just as stupid as girls who wear skimpy little tops with bra straps hanging all out!
