WWD reports that Devi Kroell–she of the snakeskin handbags and shoes–is leaving her own company, which she founded in 2004.
The news comes just a few months after the Bartel family–known for big investments in labels like Lanvin–bought a significant stake in Kroell’s company.
Kroell will remain a shareholder and board member, but she’ll no longer be involved with the day-to-day business.
While we don’t have insider information on this one, we tend to think that the Bartel investment and Kroell’s departure are connected. It’s too bad–not only is Kroell a talent, she’s also the face of the brand.
