After making a brief appearance at Taco Tuesday, we headed back to SoHo, where JNBY was celebrating the opening of its permanent New York store. (Previously, the Chinese fashion label operated a temporary pop-up location just a few blocks away.)

Plenty of party goers were decked in head-to-toe JNBY (Just Naturally Be Yourself), including Sophomore designer Chrissie Miller, who DJed, and Lissy Trullie, who performed a short set.

While the China Brasserie dim sum on offer was difficult to ignore, we were more enamored with JNBY’s fall collection (All images included in this story are from the look book). Produced by a collective of 12 Chinese designers, the line is more than a tad utilitarian, with lots of little leather bombers, trench coats, duffel coats and Luke Skywalker-inspired leggings.

Other than the clothes we wanted to buy, we also noticed some we already own.

In particular: Army jackets. Pretty much every person in the room was wearing one. Of course, it was raining last night, but we wonder: Is the military look as ubiquitous as the Breton shirt?

yeah, jnby has some really cute stuff but for some reason they're not hugely popular in China/at least my town of 8 million, despite being one of the best native brands (in my opinion)…they have a sister store for dudes called Croquis that's also got some good stuff, I scanned in some pages from their lookbook at my blerg, http://commeartiste.blogspot.com

glad to see you again, nice blog
