Introducing Clark Sabat Couture

You may not be too familiar with the name Clark Sabat, but you're certainly familiar with his label Friends With Benefits, created with stylist Lynn Levoy. Sabat's friends/fans include Sienna Miller and Olivia Palermo. Now, he's taking his aesthetic from casually draped recycled cotton blouses to couture-quality dresses. For the debut Clark Sabat collection, the designer used kangaroo, eel and python mixed with cottons and silk jersey to create intricately pleated and perfectly-draped pieces. Since each item will be made-to-measure, dresses start at $3,000, jackets at $3,500 and vests at $1,500. (Most pieces from Friends With Benefits, on the other hand, hover around $400.) Sabat will also create custom garments upon request. Here's a sneak peek at what's in store for Spring 2011:
