Forever 21's new Times Square flagship opens today, and we got a sneak peak inside last night.
First impression: The store is ENORMOUS. There are four very brightly-lit floors chock full of fast fashion totaling 91,257 square feet of retail space. That makes Forever 21's Times Square location the largest single brand apparel store in Manhattan. To drive the point home, there is, no joke, a real life taxicab on the bottom floor. (For you intrepid New Yorkers looking to participate in the store's opening day festivities, or snag one of the 1,000 gift certificates valued up to $210, the store is located at 1540 Broadway.) After we stopped gaping at the sheer size of the place, we took a little tour of the four floors, stopping at specially designated "shopping stations" where we snagged a super soft caution-tape patterned racer-back tank designed by Brian Lichtenberg, and an adorable printed tank designed by Danny Roberts. (The Brian Lichtenberg tank goes on sale in July, the Danny Roberts tank is available now.)
FashionToast's Rumi Neely is the poster girl for the new flagship, and she was on hand last night with her photographer/boyfriend to, from what we could tell, look hot and pose sulkily.
Despite the store's massive size, 151 dressing rooms, and 32 registers, it is, after all, Forever 21, it's in Times Square, and we're sure it will be a mob scene in no time.
