Would You Go Topless?

Friday, Jun 25, 2010 / 2:00 PM

Yesterday, at the Forever 21 opening, a group of us got into a discussion about going topless at places other than a nude beach. (See these Standard Hotel NSFW party pictures to get a sense of how we landed on the topic.)

Leah mentioned that it seems almost chic or trendy to take off your shirt, and/or bra, as much as you can these days, (but she concedes that she may have just not noticed it in the past). We all concurred.

Of course, one must look no further than Purple Diary for proof. I said that, while I wouldn’t go topless, I might if I looked like Camille Bidault Waddington.

Pretty much every other person in our little group said that no top was a definite no-no for them. But of course, what I really want to know is, are you blasé about stripping down to your thong? Or will you always keep your top on?

I would never, but I think it definitely depends on how busty you are. If you're an A-small B, then in certain situations (not that I can think of any,) it would look less trashy than a C or D cup. Of course, having less than 2% body fat would help in those situations.

of course.
I've been topless at MANY beaches in Europe and I find it amusing how much North American society makes of seeing a breast. I mean, for godsake, we've ALL got them and despite a few trait differences, they are always the same. Nothing exciting, jarring, or weird.

I am convinced bras are a manipulation of man to make us sex objects. So yes, I go bra-less as much as socially acceptable.

Well, if you want to go topless, remember the 30+ – one area of the body you would not like to burn to a crisp.
