Friendship Bracelets Go From Camp To Cool

Thursday, Jul 29, 2010 / 7:20 PM

Friendship bracelets are having an extended moment. They’ve come a long way from my camp cabin, where my friends and I would knot bracelets using our big toes as hooks (I promise it seemed normal).

Vena Cava’s SS 2010 invites were friendship bracelets. Lucky editor Jenny Kang’s line Bracelets by Dad, has graced the wrists of Alexa Chung and Leighton Meester. Lauren is mad for Parisian designer Aurelie Bidermann’s ‘Do Brasil‘ bracelet which knots gold links right in with the colorful embroidery thread. Now J.Crew has partnered with Frieda & Nellie to produce a line of one-of-a-kind friendship bracelets that have rhinestones and metal woven into the embroidery thread.

We wouldn’t mind if our besties gave us any of these.

LOVE the new slideshow format! So much simpler and quicker to navigate.

I am a ten year old girl from Malaysia. I just started an online shop at http://bit.ly/9QjBEd.
Can I be your agent in Malaysia?

Thank you.

No, the new slideshow format is not any simpler or quicker to navigate; it just looks more clean. You don't want movement with the whole page/screen. Have the pictures change within the slideshow itself and not the whole page, which is REDUNDANT.

I love the bracelets though…

Very cute, I like the starfish pendant. If you are not making this stuff yourself, you should start.

Good luck!

Dont you want to order? ;-)

Thanks! Glad to hear!

You've got a point, but that requires ajax, and we just don't have the resources now–we'll get there someday!

A+ for first effort though.

There's a Duane Reade on Broadway so…

I still think they look too “crafty” and childish but hey…that's just me.
