It’s been two summers and I’m still really, really into anything that even remotely resembles a friendship bracelet.

Now, the wicked talented Erica Domesek–she of our favorite DIY website, PS- I Made This–has created a rope necklace that I just can’t resist.

Domesek partnered with adorable boutique Tauk–in Montauk, obviously–to release a limited edition run of the macrame necklaces she’s been wearing all summer. And yes, she made them. Each is handwoven with string, bright ropes, and ultra suede.

I’m partial to the navy, black, and white, but let’s be real, they’re all cute. I’m heading out to Montauk in two weeks, which means my first stop will be Tauk. And at $80, it won’t drain me of spending money.

Love these! So great for summer.http://tovogueorbust.blogspot.com/

Rip-off of Kate Miss's For Me, For You necklaces? And not even as pretty.

Wow, they look nothing like those necklaces! Somebody's bitter!

Instead of spending $80, why dont you spend like 1 for a piece of string and then make it yourself… it would only take about 5 minutes.

In fact, I am making this my next diy!

Point taken. I'm lazy!

Eesh. Rip-off of the friendship bracelet necklace concept, not the execution of it. Sorry.

…the arguement of saying in a negative way “why don't you make it yourself” bothers me as there is a lot of thought and work that goes into craft and by saying that so flippantly about an artist's work it seems like an attempt to discredit her design. i definitely wouldn't be able to just buy a piece of string and make that. maybe it did take five minutes for her, but it is her work that she created and if the price angers you, just keep it to yourself.

no, you are being sweet and self deprecating. if the price is respectable to you, then others shouldn't mock that, especially when it comes to someone's hand made jewelry. just because the materials may be inexpensive, that doesn't mean her pieces aren't worth 80 dollars for her time and her creative mind.

These necklaces aren't macrame – they're a form of knitting. Get your crafts straight!!!

its called finger knitting and its the easiest thing to do. i know because this past winter i made over a dozen of finger knitted neck warmers…but i didnt charge 80$.i charged way less.

I did it last night, and it took me literally five minutes. The design isn't art. Its a weaving pattern that most people learned how to do on their hands in summer camp when they were 4 or 5 years old to — surprise — make bracelets in necklaces.I appreciate beautiful jewelry and good ideas, and honestly, people can choose to buy this if they want to, but I have no question that it is a beautiful, but wholly unoriginal design.

I have it on good authority that Kate Miss stole THAT concept from the summer camp of her childhood. SCANDAL!
