Russian Vogue Editor-in-Chief Aliona Doletskaya Has Resigned
By Lauren Sherman
This is kind of big news. Russian Vogue editor-in-chief Aliona Doletskaya–the woman who was rumored to be in line for Anna Wintour‘s job–is leaving the magazine, according to LOVE‘s Twitter.
Do we think Doletskaya is leaving for American Vogue? Doubtful. However, it does bring up that nagging question: When will Wintour retire? And who will replace her?
Candidates range from Glamour‘s Cindi Leive–who, while not a fashion person, knows how to run a magazine–to Carine to Stefano (some believe W is an audition for Vogue.)
Wintour will turn 61 this year, which means she probably has another decade in her. But Grace Coddington turns 69–she’s probably much closer to hanging up her steam iron.
Who do you think should replace Coddington and Wintour when they say goodbye?

No one, and I mean NO ONE, can replace Grace Coddington.
Me.
well said #1
touché! I suppose I should have said “follow,” not “replace.”
After the September Issue, all I could think was: This film is Grace's chance to break free and get a job with some freaking freedom! She would thrive in an unfettered environment, so I hope some angel investor came along and offered her her own, say, twice-yearly magazine. (I'm totally projecting here!)
Well unless Ms. Wintour dies suddenly i don't think a replacement is so urgent. She's still as powerful as ever, it is true that Vogue is suffering from loss of advertising pages and sales, but remember that this is a common factor between all publications. But her inference in the retail business and fashion turmoils is still relevant and well observed by everyone in the industry.I would agree, she has a good ten years ahead of her (at least) and i seriously don't know who could fill in her shoes right now.
When Anna dies, Giorgio Armani will take her place.
Grace Coddingtons work is the only reason to look at Vogue as far as I know.I mean if you are there for fashion and all. Sorry to the other stylists but she is the best. I believe, through AV, she has been a huge catalyst to North American (I am Canadian) fashion. I don't believe fashion is Ms. Wintours strong suit, she more an editor with an opinion about it. I've never cared much about the society pages certainly.Good luck, Ms. Wintour
I forgot the question, I have no idea who could.Obviously I'm having trouble imagining AV without GC.
i love american Vogue and the work that Anna Wintour does, but i also love russian Vogue and i am so so so SAD that Aliona left Vogue, and i honestly think that she can replace Wintour at american Vogue
Bravo!) However Alena is not the only one who left her power on Russian fashion scene This Spring our bored Russian L'Officielle left his immortal editor-in-chief Evelina Chromchenko. After 10 years of her ringing this lady was dismissed by the owner of the Russian L'Officiel (publisher and investor) who said that “she works too much.. at least by her own career”
OMGthis is the end of russian vogue
