This Weekend's Top Weekender Bags

I'm a sucker for a good weekender bag. There are so many excellent ones out there--from the preppy to the minimalist to the, dare I say, directional. (As directional as a weekender can get.) Given that it's a holiday weekend, I'm assuming plenty of you are heading off to a family barbecue, a country cabin, or most likely, the beach. Maybe a combination of all three. I, for one, am writing this on a plane to Chicago. (Yes, American Airlines has Wi-Fi at every altitude!) One thing's for sure: Whether you want to spend $10 or $10,000, no one should be without a sturdy, good-looking weekender. Now, for some options:

Joie for Shutters on the Beach, $175 Shuttersbeachstyle.com In honor of its California roots, contemporary label Joie has designed a white canvas weekender for aptly-named resort Shutters By the Beach. The wooden base means it'll stand up in the sand, and the water-resistant pockets are perfect for storing leak-prone items like sunblock.

Duluth Pack Safari Duffel, $100 Duluthpack.com I recently became obsessed with this Minnesota-based company after they sent me one of their backpacks. I'm just blown away by the Made in the USA quality at such a fair price. This bag is sure to last a lifetime, and if you're into that rugged look, it's perfect.

Angela Adams® and Sea Bags for J.Crew Pocket Sail Bag, $198 Jcrew.com I'm a sucker for anything made out of a sail--mostly because it's super, super sturdy. This carryall also happens to look cool, from the rope handles to the single grommet in the corner of the bright yellow square.

Pendleton Spirit of the People's Weekender, $198 Pendleton.com Leah's very into Pendleton's weekender, and I totally understand why: the colors, the print, the longevity of virgin wool. Now I just want a Pendleton blanket to match.

Silent by Damir Doma Big Canvas Backpack in Grey, $338 Forwardforward.com The shape of this bag is just so sculptural. I'm not sure what it would look like with a ton of stuff in it, but it's sure to be interesting.

V Australia + Steven Alan Perfect Bag, $777 Stevenalan.com My love for Steven Alan-branded items knows no bounds. This "Perfect Bag" is truly perfect, from the cream, navy, and red colorway to the waxed cotton upper to the leather bottom. Even the inside pockets are lined in Steven Alan plaid cotton. Unreal.

LL Bean Boat and Tote Bag With a Zip Top, $37.95 Llbean.com It doesn't get easier than this. Enjoy the weekend!
