		<description>there&#039;s also a difference between a knock-off and a counterfeit.  a counterfeit is a full on fake.  a knock off is something that is designed to look suspiciously like the real thing, but like Forever 21, is not actually putting the real designer&#039;s label on the garment.&lt;br&gt;there is legal protection for an actual counterfeit.  not for knock-offs at this point in time, but designers like DVF and the CFDA are trying to have the law changed in our country so we do have better protection for designers who get their designs ripped off.  it&#039;s a hot issue right now, and it&#039;s always great when there are intellectual property victories for designers because there&#039;s a ton of protection in other countries in Europe and Asia.  the US is pretty far behind the curve actually!</description>

		<description>Well, there you have it.  Valentino won the right to the name because he had been using it much longer than the applicants.  The costs of running a case for 16 years -  that keeps the legal profession well stocked with Valentino originals.</description>
