It’s official: Chelsea Clinton wore Vera Wang when marrying Marc Mezvinsky yesterday in upstate New York, as reported on People.com. Mezvinsky wore a Burberry suit.

Chelsea’s mom, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, wore Oscar.

While none of this is very surprising, we will say that we were very impressed with the bride’s dress choice. The beading at the waist, frothy skirt and beautiful white rose bouquet might not have been innovative, but it was beautiful.

What do you think of Chelsea’s dress?

Pretty. I like the beading at the waist. Makeup was a little heavy for my taste. When (if) I ever get married I want to wear something a little more different though. Either short, with sleeves, something like that.

may not have been innovative? jeez. it was a pretty dress…and at the end of the day, most people aren't looking for innovative on their wedding day. I thought makeup was fine….people forget chelsea has rather strong features…anything less, would have made her look washed out or blah.

So many places are reporting that dress as an Oscar de la Renta.

I occasionally sell Vera Wang wedding dresses through Scarlett's Closet so I consider myself somewhat of an expert on designer bridal. Chelsea's dress is oh so Vera – the angels are in the details. It is laser cut raw edged silk tulle. Every one of those descriptors is loaded. Laser cut – unusual precision. Raw edged – unfinished. Silk tulle – so dear that it's not even used in veils that often. A diagonally draped and ruched bodice. Swirls of silk tulle in the skirt. You may not see it in the photographs. Many people would not recognize how distinctive – and expensive – the details. But very Vera Wang from neckline to hem. And yet all styled with such restraint that miraculously Chelsea wore the dress rather than vice versa.

The dress is beyond beautiful, but the make up is awful, makes her look like a deformed clown. Her dad isn't looking very well at all though. Hats of to Vera Wang for such a pretty creation.

it is gorgeous. the beaded belt really makes it!CLOTHESURE

I agree. Wedding dresses are sui generis in most women's wardrobes – one of a kind, a fantasy dreamed of since childhood- a dress that helps them look their most beautiful. I thought Chelsea looked beautiful and really bride like without going over the top.

“…Chelsea's father, Janet Reno, sparkled in a flirty Herve Leger.”

It was definitely very pretty and classic. The belt was a nice embellishment choose too — very on trend and glamorous.

She looked Hollywoodana. The dress was very elegant; and she looked very statuesque and classical, but there was nothing of innocence or sweetness or love in the look. The image that was projected spoke of extreme care in the preparation of a created appearence and in the details of the look that was desired. It also spoke or shouted (invisibly) of MONEY and an artifically created and strategically structured beautiful appearance as a value. There was nothing of true personal beauty. It all looked very constructed and calculated in my opinion.

This dress is a classic beauty. This would make me consider the tradition style for a wedding dresses. Although most are different, they all have a generic boring appeal to them, but the dress worn by Chelsea does not reflect my quintessential depiction of a traditional wedding dress. Thanks for sharing.Dana

I think every bride looks fab on her wedding day and I am glad Chelsea wore something with a bit of an edge thanks to the beaded belt, but i am SO OVER STRAPLESS. I have been to a lot of weddings recently and I love an innovative, unexpected dress on a bride. It's so refreshing to see some personal style out there! Anyone see Alicia Keys' wedding dress? Still Vera, but I just loved the one shoulder goddess look. Stunning.

It was not pretty. It was VERY pretty! :)

The dress was pretty and ethereal – the bride still looks like 1) HOWDY DOODY 2) Alfalfa from The Little Rascals cartoons 3) a horse. This despite perhaps 1 million US on cosmetic surgeries, new teeth; hair straightened and blonded and all of that. Sorry, but this is one now too skinny, pale and very homely girl and anyone who refers to her as “pretty” needs a new ophthalmologist – and quick. BTW – I went to school with Chelsea and am very aware of her surly and bitchy personality and how much work she has had done. Her saving grace is that she is very intelligent..after all, she worked for perhaps two whole years. But Princess Bride? I don't think so, folks.
