Calling your collection “Birds of Paradise” is a dangerous thing, since Alber Elbaz most beloved Lanvin collection of Spring 2008 has the same title, so when I found the program at Erin Fetherston I was worried about what was going to be shown. But it was not Lanvin-like in the least. In a trim and tailored collection, Fetherson showed structured options for the sophisticated summer girl, safari jackets, accent draping, and shorts suits among the memorable styles. But the real clinchers were the Judith Leiber designed leopard and parrot purses that accompanied two looks. The studded platform sandals, however, I could have done without.
