Which leading fashion brand was noticeably absent from Vogue‘s September issue? The advertiser was trying to make a point about just how (not) relevant/powerful Vogue is, and pulled at the last minute.

Hint: It makes up for one “half” of a fashion’s biggest powerhouse.

Vuitton? Marc is in there but I don’t remember Vuitton anywhere.

Gap?

Vuitton = one half of LVMH = fashions biggest powerhouse.

Vuitton.

Def Louis V. Which I think is a mistake on their part.

It was Stefano Gabbana… The ad just says Dolce &

I don’t think it’s LV, Marc and Anna are BFFs.

Peter is on a commenting spree today.

You are all fools. Vuitton is every well story. I am convinced none of the commenters even read the issue. The answer is DSquared2.

But if it’s “half of fashion’s biggest powerhouse”? Wouldn’t that be the letter D?

LAWLZ

Oh, and DSquared as ‘fashion’s biggest powerhouse’? Don’t they just cut the labels off Abercrombie and sew on their own?

It’s PRADA! They were barely in any of the September issues in the UK either, which was surprising as it was a lovely collection. The other half they’re talking about is Miu Miu.

This is the closest so far…

NO idea but waiting for some answers… who dares to not show Vogue some courtesy by purchasing thousands of dollars in advertising pages?

it’s LV! i’m not positive but i can’t remember seeing their ads anywhere in vogue, just their clothes on lara stone in an editorial?
if it is LV, that’s a bold statement, and i wonder whether it was worth it?

I’m pretty sure both Prada and LV were in editorials for September US Vogue.

Maybe it was Karl Lagerfeld, the other half was Chanel?

Its definatley LV i remember going through vogue twice, to see if i missed it.

YOU are the fool… since WHEN Dsquared is a powerfull fashion house???

Vuitton

If It was LV surely the UK Vogue would have also cut them out, and yet they have just as many pages in the September issue as ever.

It can’t be Prada. They’re like the first ad in the issue

And it can’t be Karl. Fendi and Chanel were both present

Now I’m VERY curious who it is! I don’t think it’s Vuitton or Karl, and am I mistaken that there was a Mui Mui ad? If someone knows the answer, don’t keep us in suspense any longer.

You guys all need to pay attention to the clue. It doesn’t say anything about the brand not being in editorials. It says the advertiser pulled out at last minute and if they did that Vogue wouldn’t have time to go and re-shoot all of the editorials to cut out the brand.

Giorgio Armani! He is in the Neiman Marcus though!

Halle Berry wore an Armani gown in the magazine. It’s probably Diesel Black Gold. There are absolutely no Staff International Brands (Margiela, Dsquared, Westwood) Ads or Pieces shot for the magazine.

dsquared is not one half of a fashion powerhouse.

and the questions was asking about ADS not editorials.(like “blah blah” said)

I said Diesel is one half of a fashion powerhouse not dsquared. Do you not understand how the buisness of fashion goes? Advertisers buy ad space and they get a page in the magazine as well as pieces styled in the magazine. Its why they hire people withb the title ad relations.

Hugo Boss

*in my Kat Williams voice*

Well, who the hell is it, then?!

I think its Gucci
ads are presented, but that’s it
and I didn’t c any Versace either

both in there

both in there

both in there

It’s Dolce & Gabbana: Stefano noticeably tweeted: “why is it that many fashion magazines are so horrible” and “what woman would wear what’s suggested by a fashion magazine anyway” – in that sense, only in a much worse English than mine. Answer: me. I only wear Wintour-approved.

lol its really a “half”
