Ten Questions For Project Runway

Friday, Sep 3, 2010 / 11:00 AM

1) Is it true what Gretchen said to her mom? Is life really more than just fashion?

2) Is anyone at all shocked that the thin girls got chosen first?

3) Did Michael D. call his model “volumptuous” (yes, with an M)? I did several rewinds. He did.

4) Why was it OK that Ivy trash-talked Michael C. for the entire first part of the show, but it was not OK when he allegedly did the same to her?

5) Can we agree that there were too many “boobage” and Jersey references this episode?

6) Didn’t Gretchen use those same fugly knee high suede boots on an earlier episode?

7) How freaking funny is Michael Kors? Peplum dinner napkin. From bridesmaid to bat mitzvah. How do you learn to fire off such perfectly timed zingers?

8) Which was better: Mondo’s Elvis ducktail ‘do or Peach’s purse-lipstick-sunglasses sweater?

9) Why didn’t the judges choose Mondo’s cute pink and black dress? Is it because they knew that Michael C. winning would incite the other designers’ outrage and thus make for better TV?

10) Hasn’t Cynthia Rowley been a judge before? And is there any category she HASN’T designed yet?

hmm… I think that was the reason as to why the judges chose Michael C’s outfit, but his dress was cute as well… But Mondo deserves to win, and Gretchen needs to go home…

Missed last night…who got booted?

As soon as I saw Gretchen’s outfit I thought, “Those boots AGAIN?”

does anyone watch the austin scarlett and santino show afterwards? it’s fantastic. my mom and i got really into watching it.

yeah the boots were so disgusting! i can’t believe the judges didn’t say anything. and i thought it was messed up how they chose all the skinny girls first and I really want Ivy and Gretchen to go home. They’re both BITCHY BITCHES

I laughed as soon as I saw the boots. I think Gretchen had a great start but is definitely starting to falter… or at least her styling sense is. I do not like Ivy at all. She is annoying and complains about everything and everyone, yet never finds anything wrong with her own pieces. Valerie’s dress was Bad News Bears, especially the straps across the back of the model. While I liked Mondo’s looked, I really loved Michael C’s; I would wear it in a heart beat. Not to mention, I feel SO BAD for him! The other designers need to leave him alone!

Ok – I really think the judges screwed up by sending home Peach – I know her dress was a little — ahem — out of the ordinary but Valerie’s dress was just BIZARRE. I was torn between Michael C’s dress and Mondo’s transformation. Do you think the judges picked Michael C. as a result of last week’s train wreck??

By god, I always look forward to Fashionista.com’s list of 10 comments after each project runway episode. You guys employ the spunkiest writers, everrrrr. I am so nodding my head in agreement and LOL-ing with each point made.

I don’t get why Ivy bitches about Michael C. when he actually makes better looks than her? Like his dress this week was truly gorgeous, maybe a bit too short but just really cute. And Gretchen…ahhh where should I begin…just send her home, I mean she said it to her mother she wanted to go home, so just grant her wish!

Gretchen and Ivy GO HOME..Michael C so is awesome..he pulls it off in the end..other contestants beware..some of you are starting to catch the Gretchen/Ivy bitter disease..it is not cute..you know who you are..MONDO..Casanova, you are a class act..Valerie’s work looks like bad Betsy Johnson..I could go on..and on..but I’ll stop here.

Mondo should have won, and I laughed out loud when Casanova said that Michael C was humble. He is perhaps the least humble person in the world. He actually said “They loved so many things that I forgot what they said”.

I agree with grammyweezy: Mondo should have one. Also concur that Michael’s win over Mondo was a call made by the producers to create even more tension amongst the designers.

*raises hand* But mostly just to see what Austin is wearing

My thoughts exactly: Ivy really should watch the reruns to see how see has trashed Michael C. ‘ad nasuem’. My vote went to Mondo for the win – don’t lose heart, Mondo. As for Michael’s win albeit there was merit to his construction, the powers that be went for the ‘reality tv drama effect’.

I actually feel that, while the dress was gorgeous, there were SEVERE construction problems with Michael C’s look. The others might be throwing him under the bus and all, but they are right in one thing: He doesn’t know how to sew. I think Mondo should have won, he was consistent to his true self, he had a worse dress to work with than Michael’s and he created an amazing, wearable, funny dress that was impeccably made.
