Willow Smith’s Top Three Looks From Milan Fashion Week
By Dhani Mau
She may be years away from fitting into runway clothes and should probably have been in school this past week, but, hey, that never stopped Tavi. Willow Smith, who has yet to reach double digits, spent last week accompanying her mom to Milan’s front rows.
Willow is already proving herself as a tween fashion force to be reckoned with. Honestly, she has an impressive sense of style for someone so young. Or, do you think she uses a stylist? Click through for her ensembles.
Designer(s): Armani, D&G, Ferragamo
Season: Spring 2011 Milan

I bet any of us “fashion forward” people would have looked just as good at that age if our mommy and daddy were millionaires with all of the connections in the world too. Seriously, her style is nothing innovative nor impressive.
The fashion world is just disgusting me lately..seriously? Getting inspiration from a nine year old? I’m almost embarrassed to say I’m in my third year of college/working long hard intern hours to break into this industry and I have to see a NINE year old front row at fashion shows. Blegh.
I totally agree with you but look on the brighter side, I’d rather hear about this kid than Rosemary’s Baby aka Suri Cruise.
Hahaha, don’t worry. By the time Suri come around to age nine, Tavi will be editor-in-chief of Vogue and Willow will be the fashion director at Elle..I’m sure they’ll help her out.
I empathize with your frustration (truuuly. I wish I had unfettered access to every store in the world), but I think this kid’s got the kind of individuality and exuberance which is rare to find in young children, and even harder to find in hardened fashionistas. You don’t need to look very far among other children-of-millionaires (a great many of whom probably consider themselves fashionable) to see that she has individual and quite daring style.
P.S. I’ve seen photos of honest-to-goodness toddlers accompanying their parents to the front row, so it’s hard to malign Willow, knowing that she is at least enjoying and remembering the experience.
I do agree with you in that I would categorize her as stylish, and sure, she does wear some pretty cool outfits. But thanks to the pop stars like Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Katy Perry, etc..I think it is pretty “in” now to be daring with fashion choices. It’s more of just a frustration that with her being signed to Jay-Z’s record label, we’re seeing this child everywhere now and she is already being called “the next Rihanna” and she’s still in elementary school.
With that, I know she is not the first child of a celebrity to sit front row. I just feel like it is way too accepted now to have kids running around and being looked up to in the fashion world. She should be perfecting her cursive and long division, instead of sitting in on Versace and Dolce & Gabbana.
Ah, do I remember the days of cursive and long division.
I find it appalling, though, that many kinds can’t even write in cursive anymore…and I’m only 22!!!!!
Sounds like you are hating on Willow to me. You can’t be serious, diva is written all over this child. True she was born into money but is that her fault?! Get a grip lady!
Hmm, I clearly blamed the fashion industry for focusing on kids more than ever lately….never Willow herself.

how can she be hating, she is just speaking the truth. Willow looks like she just threw on a pieces of clothes together and then people took her serious and called it inspiration. If a grown adult wore what she wore they would have been slaughtered in the magazines for their epic fail.
I bothers me to see some of you talking a 9 year old child as if she were an adult that you dislike. If shes lucky enough to be in front rows of fashion shows the GOOD FOR HER; yes, her parents look great and have tons of money, but why exactly does that bother you? Let’s not sound bitter now.
i truly agree with you.
I mean, I think she obviously uses a stylist, because some of those pieces are to difficult for a nine-year-old to even figure out how to put on by herself, but I still think that the fact that she willingly, and even happily, wears what she does speaks to a rather impressive sense of personal style for a nine-year-old. Basically, I get that she has a lot of money, and I think that she has someone help her, but I still think she is operating well above her age, stylistically speaking.
Okaaaaaaaaay…..her style is juvenile. It’s cute, but very young and it shows. I’m not much of a fan, but I’m not hating on the girl at all. :)
Her best look (which isn’t saying all that much, considering….) is at Dolce.
With Ian and bongenre in here, there’s just too much estrogen.
Forgive me – I popped a Premarin that day.
All the outfits are age appropriate, featuring very high end brands but not, in themselves, very creative. Just the thing you would buy if you went shopping with your very rich and stylish mother.
She uses Rihanna’s stylist. http://www.hollywoodlife.com/2010/07/26/willow-smith-red-carpet-style-icon-interview-rihanna-photos/
Children do NOT belong to front row. That`s all that needs to be said.
Who cares? She is nine years old and it’s too bad she is already all wrapped up in what she is wearing! Her outfits (except the last one) are too busy as are her mothers! I guess they don’t believe in the less is more ascetic or even the take off at least one thing before leaving the house fashion tip! I am sad that people aren’t addressing the fact that these celebrity kids are growing up too fast and are worrying about stuff that they will have the rest of their lives to worry about! So, why rush it childhood is too short lived as it is, doesn’t anyone think they should be doing kid stuff? I did notice that she looks JUST like her dad!
She is so fun and cute. love her
help. HELP. I CAN’T FIND HER ARMS IN PICTURE ONE. i can’t pass a proper sartorial judgement when 50% of her limbs are lost to me. explain this top.
A nine year old can get away with anything..because they’re NINE. The problem is that some adults try to pull of similar looks..which can be so very wrong. The child’s parents are loaded and she obviously has a stylist, Willow or her mother never claimed she didn’t. Hateraid fashion folk pounced just because they could..jealousy is an ugly beast. The beauty of Willow is her confidence and pride in her outfits..and her catchy little ditty. Werk it little girl!!
…nine year olds…
