A reader tipped us off about these Steve Madden booties’ and the striking resemblance they bear to Burberry Prorsum’s Shearling-lined aviator boots. The Steve Maddens are clearly a knock-off. The shape, placement of the buckles and platform seem directly copied from the original. And it’s difficult to tell in this photo, but the Steve Maddens also appear to have some sort of shearling lining. Of course, the Burberrys, which retail on Net-a-Porter for $1,095 are much better-looking overall, but Steve Madden’s $150 knock-offs really aren’t so bad. What do you think?

Rachel Zoe Might be Pregnant. Literally.
Looks like Rachel finally took that blood test. A source has confirmed to OK! that Rachel Zoe is, in fact, three months preggers with her first child. We die. Perhaps this explains her absence from Milan and Paris fashion weeks?
“She’s going to be going on maternity leave from full time styling immediately after this year’s Academy Awards, and doesn’t expect to work again until early fall at the earliest. She and Rodger are especially happy and Rachel, who can normally be quite emotionless, even teared up a few times as she started letting people in on the news,” the source told OK!.
From Taylor’s firing to Brad leaving, it’s shaping up to be quite a tumultuous year for Zoe. And although we can’t even begin to imagine her with a baby bump, we wish Rachel and Rodge all the best if this exciting news is true.

PARIS–Minimalism might be the new old thing, but Balmain designer Christophe Decarnin could give a flying f*ck. He made that quite clear today at Le Grand Hotel, where he showed his Spring 2011 collection.
Models including Daria, Carmen Kass (with a shaggy new pageboy cut), and Isabeli Fontana stomped down the runway to what seemed like several iterations of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way.” And indeed, Decarnin did it his way. Save for a plain white jacket near the end of the show, the designer presented his signature sparkly blazers, some ripped t-shirts, and few pieces embellished with studded crystals.

PARIS–”Wow, this looks a fashion funeral,” whispered a photographer setting up his camera as the Ann Demeulemeester show was about to start. Held in a convent on the Parisian left bank, the crowd was suitingly dressed head to toe in black. Was it monastery chic, or paying homage to Ann’s somber taste? We pondered.
“I think I’m ready to move to something pure, clean, but yet abstract,” Ann told us minutes before the show. And indeed she did: the runway consisted of a gradient starting in a pure white, moving onto touches of black, then full-on black. Old Ann, new Ann: she created a balance between a soft, pared down silhouette and her love for layers.
The transition from white to black occurred through prints: Ann created giant patterns onto fabric, that she then cut into clothes: the motifs turned into abstract, haphazard touches of black — at first rare and then gradually denser, for white to slowly fade out. Because many pieces were cut out of the same giant print, “Every piece is totally unique,” she said.

Zac Posen Spring 2011: Paris, je t’aime
PARIS–I must admit, when I first heard that Zac Posen was showing his main collection in Paris, I rolled my eyes…just a little. Apparently,Yohji Yamamoto had suggested to Zac that he show abroad–that they would “understand him” better in Europe.
But then, I thought about it. And when you think about it, Yamamoto‘s logic is indeed logical. Posen tends to design for a woman who doesn’t care for trends, who prefers something figure-hugging and frilly over something asexual and de rigueur. The European woman isn’t so much a slave to “what’s in” as the American woman, which means that Paris is the perfect place for Posen to show. The more European buyers that show up, the better for the designer.

Hakaan Accepts the ANDAM with Aplomb
PARIS–Hakaan Yildirim is not who one would call an ingenue. Indeed, Yildirim, whose “debut” at London Fashion Week last season made a decidedly large splash, has been a working designer in Turkey for more than a decade.
Within a year, Yildirim has gone from a local Turkish talent to the fashion world’s next big thing, and his collection, shown Wednesday in Paris, further sealed his fate.
Last night, Yildirim officially accepted the spoils of his latest achievement: the ANDAM fashion award.

Ten Questions For Project Runway
1) Is this possibly the most emotional show that Lifetime has ever broadcast? And that’s saying a lot. Everyone cried. Tim. All the contestants. Michael Kors almost did. Oh, but not Nina. (Shocker.)
2) How hot is April’s mom?
3) Who else absolutely, positively knew what a foulard is? I certainly did. It didn’t take me five attempts to spell it either.
4) Can we all agree that make-up that makes you look like a streetwalker or a figure-skater is never a good thing? Thank goodness the L’Oreal Paris make-up room is around to remind us.
5) What kind of crazy ass fights do you suppose take place at Michael C’s house during family parties?
