The Local Firm

The Local Firm: This label, which has both men’s and women’s lines, was founded in 2007 by Richard Hutchinson and Axel Nyhage. Both have experience at Acne Jeans, and they describe their style as combining “high fashion with innovative jean design.” The concept is Bauhaus meets former Eastern Bloc design. Their palette is neutral, their shapes are minimalist, and they employ distinctive color-blocking.

Find their duds at Blackbird in Seattle, Dear Fieldbinder in Brooklyn, Alex and Chloe in California, P45 in Chicago. Like Rodebjer, their garments will also be available at Urban Outfitters, through their “Around The World” concept. (The store is clearly having a Scandinavian moment.)
