Trendspotting: Messy Buns Or Stick Straight?
By Steff Yotka and Cheryl Wischhover
Whether you’re a control freak or have an out-of-bed-and-out-the-door beauty routine, the S/S 2010 runways have you covered. If you’re the first type, your hair will be flat as a pancake. Give it a severe center (or severely off-center) part and hope it doesn’t rain.

If you like effortless hair–or at least the illusion of effortless hair–try the messy bun. Twist it, turn it, and pin it. We are totally growing our hair out for spring to try this one.

Ug. A woman’s hair is suppose to be her crowning glory. Her clothes can be old and worn out, she can be sans makeup, but her hair should always be nice. Neither of these are nice.
Straight hair, especially on women, always looks dirty and greasy, even when freshly washed. The women above look like oil pits and the straight style does nothing for their faces.
The other just looks like they’re lazy. A tangled mess.
Now I’ll admit I don’t know how to style my own hair – when I need it curled I go to my mom who’s a former hairdresser. However I always make an effort. I wash it, comb it, and pull it back a little bit so it won’t get in my eyes, then topsy tail it. Not the greatest style, but I get compliments because I always make the effort to do something with my hair.
These women look like they don’t do anything and therefore they all look terrible.
