Shannen Doherty has a new book out called Badass. It’s 200 plus pages of advice from the former 90210 star on, well, how to be a badass. Like why you should shave: “How hard is it to shave your legs and armpits? Is it really just too much to go to the waxer once a month? And how hard is it to shut the bathroom door? Let me put it to you this way: If your boyfriend or husband casually sat on your face and let out the smelliest, loudest fart in the world, and then just got up as if it had never happened, and he did this regularly, would you still find him hot? No, you would not. So why on earth would he find you sexy when he can see and hear your bathroom habits? … Why should he have sandpaper scraping his body all night in bed? Why should he wonder how he ended up with a gorilla instead of the beautiful woman he fell in love with? … There is no excuse for not taking care of yourself.”

There are also some handy top ten lists, Jezebel found. Like Doherty’s top ten “badass lipstick shades.” Here they are:

1. Mac Russian Red
2. Chanel Provocative
3. Bobbi Brown Silver Haze
4. Revlon Black
5. MAC Bombshell
6. Chanel Crazed
7. Chanel Mystery
8. L’OrĂ©al Divine Wine
9. MAC Dare You
10. Nars Orgasm

MAC Russian Red is such a fabulous eternal red. Currently I’m really big on MAC Morange.
Wearing lipstick these days at all makes anyone pretty badass

That was really upsetting.

“Poor” Shannen – time, and her fans, have moved on. Now she’s written a vanity publication in tune with that garbage “surrendered wife” b.s. I love the hazy phograph – more indistinct and gauzy than a late Doris Day movie. Shannen, you are a boring idiot who blew a huge amount of opportunities. You have nothing to teach anybody, and I couldn’t care less what nail polish you use.

Hey what bout Estee Lauder red lipstick???????????????

Have to say I think MAC Ruby Woo is more badass than Russian Red. Better staying power too.

She sure has a lot of questions. Perhaps one of her 90201 colleagues can write a book that answers them.

I remember in the good old days when “writers” wrote books that contained what we called “information.” People spent money on them and learned things.

Make yourself look pretty if you want to and only sit on your partner’s face when invited.
This book sounds like a lot of unecessary musings on topics that aren’t relevant from a has-been tv celebrity. I bet a significant part of Fashionistas readership hadn’t heard of her. If Paris Hilton hadn’t made a sex tape with her husband, I might not have remembered her name.

I’m 16 from India and I don’t know anyone who doesn’t know Shannen Doherty.

Wow, that was a disturbing passage, and I get the sense no editing or ghost writing was allowed here. It definitely supports the widely held belief that Shannen is crazy. (I also wish I only had to wax once a month.)

I’m from Brazil, and I strongly agree about the part on personal care. It’s well written and funny, besides certainly correct. One’s mate must be treated with some etiquette – leaving the bathroom door open while doing your intimate stuff is simply bad manners, in my opinion. And shaving/washing, if you are a hairy person – sa va sans dire. As for the writer been considered “crazy” or “ex-been celebrity” has nothing to do with what she discuss.

I am experimenting with not shaving for the winter and I was considering quitting. After reading this I have decided to keep my hairy legs. Thanks for the advice.

I have read her previous book “why you should shave”. It gives interesting reasons to do it.
