Earlier this week, in an item about the Lanvin for H&M collab, WWD quoted an H&M spokesperson as saying, “Madonna and J.Lo have [already] asked for pieces from the collection, but we’re not lending out clothes until the runway show on Nov. 18.”
Then Elle noticed that some British starlets (who are way less famous than Madonna and J.Lo) were wearing the collection on Wednesday. Then I noticed that Leighton Meester was wearing the leopard pumps at a Vogue event on Wednesday as well. And then a reader pointed out that Korean actress Ha Ji Won wore head-to-toe Lanvin for H&M to the Asiana International Short Film Festival on November 4.
So it seemed peculiar that all of these young actresses across the globe had somehow managed to get into Lanvin for H&M and Madonna and J.Lo would have to wait until November 18. Turns out it’s not true. A spokesperson from H&M told us that the brand is, in fact, working with Madonna and J.Lo to get them pieces from the collection and the hold up is due to scheduling conflicts. H&M assures us that Lanvin hearts H&M hearts J.Lo and Madonna and they’ll be receiving their favorite pieces from the collection shortly. PHEW.

I have to question that once Madonna & Jlo & Madonna wear it, would I?
Whoever wrote this article needs to check their facts. Madonna was the first celeb to view the whole collection and she, along with her daughter, were the first to select the pieces they wanted.

So these clothes, that are very cheap, mind you (compared to the normal fare that they parade around in), are being given, for free, to these ladies who already have OODLES and OODLES more money than many of us combined?
Hmmmm….
I’m so relieved that a few notables get to wear clothes that will be hard for the average woman to snag — even if she sleeps in front of the door of H&Ms selling the collection. (Which, by the way, I drool for and there’s no way in hell I can get.) Like H&M really needs the publicity for this swag.
Damn. I thought H&M were demonstrating some taste in excluding these freeloading publicity whores.
Frankly I can’t help but be annoyed that by the time we actually get to buy the collection, these celebs will be like, “yesterday’s news” – you know? And then we actually have to pay to get these pieces, which they score for free from the limited numbers of items produced. I mean, borrow it and then give it back! Someone might actually be willing to pay the dollars at the store for J.Lo’s toss-offs than head over to eBay to try to get one for thrice the price.
I’d be wary, as a brand, handing out pieces like this to women of such an, ahem, advanced age. Kind of lessens the cool appeal, n’est-ce pas?
I never will understand why rich folks are given things they can afford to buy..is it just because they can…Madonna and J.Lo can afford real Lanvin..why do they need the cheap version..just because they can..GREED..@astalgirl01 I can’t agree more.
jeeeeze this is real pandemonium right here. I’m going to the Forum flagship @ Vegas….this is going to be crazy.
My heart bleeds for both of these old bags… Yeah, really.
