Taylor Swift’s Perfume Doesn’t Have to Smell Bad: Celebrity Fragrances We Actually Like
By Lauren Sherman
Taylor Swift is following in the footsteps of pretty much every celebrity ever and launching her own fragrance. The wise-beyond-her-years (?) singer just inked a deal with Elizabeth Arden to develop her own unique scent, set to appear on shelves next fall.
I’m assuming the fragrance will be quite sophisticated, since Taylor likes dating older men and all….
Okay, not really. That was a joke. I’m expecting it to smell bad. Really, really bad. But let’s not give up hope just yet.
There are a few celebrity scents I actually like. (A snap poll of my friends–inside and outside of fashion–suggests that I may be the only person on earth willing to admit this.)
Celebrity fragrances that I not only can stomach, but wouldn’t mind wearing:

You accidentally wrote taylor smith in the title. I hate when my hands go on autopilot and type completely different words like that.
whoops, thanks! Yeah, I rewrote the headline too many times. Now I understand why Taylor wasn’t attracting more of an audience :).
Agree with the verdict on Hilary Duff’s fragrance. It’s actually not bad– here’s hoping the girl’s novel gets the same reviews. :o) Heh heh.
Taylor! OMG
Hmmmm…I’m surprised M by Mariah Carey’s not on the list.
Despite being like an EXTREEEEMELY hardcore Mariah fan, I can’t really say that I was expecting the best from her fragrance release. But I was terribly surprised. It’s brilliantly adult, sensual, warm, complex, and smells expensive. It doesn’t give you typical cheap juice smell. Of course, some of the subsequent fragrances have left a bit to be desired, but the first one is really a testament to how much work she put into it.
Side note: Actually, I like all of the signature scents that she’s released. Now all of the candy fragrances, thereafter…well……..
Debbie Gibson – so cute (can just imagine little Lauren in a look alike outfit!).
The Tilda Swinton (hadn’t heard of it before) sounds interesting – if I can find it I’ll try it.
You girls must be joking. The BEST fragrances are still made by Tova Borgnine & Philosophy. The
only “celebrity” fragrance I like is the one by Kim Kardashian. Most others all smell the same &
you must also keep in mind that men don’t like many of the fragrances out there either. Kind of like
women who wear a lot of lip gloss or makeup. And on Dr. Oz they revealed the fragrance men
like the most Is Vanilla. But I find many of the perfumes on the market just plain stink.
